About Jenin
Jenin Al Shalabi is a speaker and writer who is passionate about highlighting diverse stories that break barriers and ignite change. She works to increase education around gender equality and feminist issues in the context of law and politics, particularly where young women are concerned.
Jenin believes that education is the first step in dispelling the harmful beliefs and hegemonies that are deeply entrenched in society. At school, Jenin established an inter-school Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Council with active members across schools in Dubai. Jenin had the opportunity to speak about her work at the UN's SDG5 summit - where she was a speaker outlining the cultural changes needed to achieve gender equality. She has also undertaken fellowships and was a contributor to The Tempest, the global media company reaching millions of readers around the world. Jenin has been awarded entry to both Cambridge and the Wharton School's summer programs.
